TOP 5: Favourites of the Summer

Ready or not, here I come!

I think that now that we're in the middle of September, we can say that Summer is over... (ohhhhh!) but that's why I chose to write a TOP 5 of my favourite things from this Summer until today. That means, the things I've enjoyed doing or using. Ready or not, here I come!

Who doesn't like ice-cream? Nobody or almost nobody, to be honest — unless you're lactose intolerant. One of the places that I've been to the most this Summer is the ice-cream parlour called 'Boutique del Gelato' which started as a modest ice-cream parlour and I think that now there's one in every corner of Palma. What works in this ice-cream parlour is the large range of flavours and the cheap price of one ball of ice-cream (< 1€) But not just that... the ball isn't literally a ball but actually like five balls until they fill the cup or cone. Since I have two Boutique del Gelato close to my house, almost every week I would go once or twice with my friends or parents to eat an ice-cream after dinner. My favourite flavours are cookies, hazelnut, mandarin and coconut!

4. Capitán Burger

Captain America & Bravas!

I think Palma needed something like this. It's a 50s style restaurant which also began with just one restaurant and now it has spread around Palma. I love it, I think the quality-price relation is accurate. Moreover, it's got a lowcost menu which isn't that bad (6,95€) which is is what McDonald's or Burger King menus cost nowadas. I love it and the hamburgers have the names of famous captains. My favourites are Captain Thunder and Captain America. Both cost 5,95€ and if you add the drink + chips (normal chips or bravas* —if you share—) it costs around 9-10 euros. Also, you can enjoy delicious desserts, salads, nachos and very cheap cocktails (3,50€) Honestly, I love it!

*Bravas: 'Patatas bravas' are boiled potatoes with spicy sauces served as tapas in some Spanish restaurants.

3. Kobo Mini

The story of this eBook is pretty funny. Turns out my mother was looking for eBooks recently since she thought it was cheaper than buying the whole Game of Thrones saga so she became interested in buying one. During that time, I had been messagging the Genius employees because the graphic tablet I use to draw randomly stopped working and we were talking about how would I be able to get a replacement. One morning, the e-mail notification from my phone woke me up with mail which read something like "Payment confirmation from Redcoon'" and reading I got scared because my name was there and I had apparently ordered an eBook. I opened my eyes and looked at my desk to see that my computer wasn't there so I got up and saw my mother with it. Yes, she had ordered it. And she would pay it in hand.
The Kobo Mini costs around 80 euros in the market but in Redcoon you can buy it for half off, which is pretty affordable. It's not just easy to use but also comfortable to read and I think it's worth it. This eBook arrived within two/three days and my mother hasn't stopped using it since then — and neither haven't I. Even though it's smaller than other eBooks for just one inch, I recommend it 100%! One of the books I read there has become one of my all-time favourites: The Fault In Our Stars by John Green, which I hope you give it a go!

2. Piercing

Personalmente me encantó hacérmelo.

This had to be in my TOP 5 for the story behind the piercing. My mother doesn't like piercings and ever since I was 15 I wanted to get my nose pierced, so she said I'd be able to do it once I was eighteen — and I'm twenty now. On the 24th July, my 'Saint day', I told her I'd get my piercing because I had the money and because, well, I'm twenty and it's a small piercing and it looks very good. After talking to her, she gave in, which made me think twice about getting it done (how ironic, right?)
Raq offered to pay my piercing because it was my first piercing and my saint day and theoretically there was a nice offer in Mystic, probably one of the most well-known tatto & piercing parlours in Palma along with BOX. Obviously, if I had my piercing done, she had to get one too — Raq is like a colander, she's got plenty, but she didn't have the belly button one so she decided to go for it.
Even though the offer had finished long time ago, the guy from the tattoo parlour decided to give us a discount. I'm not surprised, though, because he laughed at with us a lot...
Personally, I loved getting it done. It doesn't hurt (I compared the pain with the one people can feel when they get their eyebrows done and the guy laughed a lot) plus it looks pretty good. The bad thing — and I've experienced it for the past weeks — is that it's pretty easy to get it infected even if you're careful with it, so please be patient.

1. AriZona Tea

It doesn't matter the season, I'm always drinking tea. Whether it's iced tea or a warm cup of tea, I love it. This number one feels like cheating because I discovered this some days ago, but yes, I've fallen in love with the brand AriZona for iced tea. I had never seen them in Palma until I went to the international part of Carrefour and I couldn't resist until I bought all of them — and I've loved each one of them. In addition, they have my all-time favourite flavour: peach flavoured tea. For some reason, there isn't peach flavoured tea in bars or restaurants (and Nestea has flavoured iced tea) so I tend to feel like the only one drinking that kind of tea. I love AriZona so much more than Nestea because the flavour is softer and they don't have as many preservatives and shit, plus I love the bottles and I'm collecting them. They are refreshing and delicious and, seriously, try them. The Blueberry White tea is soooooooooooooo delicious and very sweet and if you're one of those people who look at the calories, the bottles are always less than 30 kcal, and they are 500ml! So if you can try them, do it!

Y si no... pues siento haberos robado vuestro preciado tiempo. ¡Gracias por leer!

And that's all, folks! I hope you enjoyed this entry and it helped you. And if it didn't, well, sorry for stealing your precious time! Thanks for reading!

Ciao!
